With this being my first blog post, I thought I would start with a pretty well known game, Minecraft.
According to searchlogistics.com, Minecraft has at least 166 million active players per month, which is pretty well known by my standards. From it's humble beginnings in 2009, it has been a repeatable experience for several people.
That may sound boring, but that's what makes it special...your Minecraft experience is never the same.
From seeds, to mods, to different builds, to chance encounters, to even the same seed, Minecraft is never the same.
Sometimes the music is so gentle when mining diamonds deep in the caves.
Sometimes there's a thunderstorm during the day and as you hear the raindrops pitter patter on your shelter, you see a ton of mobs waiting for a moment to strike.
Sometimes after a long day of work, you turn on peaceful mode to just mine and build your base.
Sometimes you might turn on hardcore mode and add some mods to feel something.
Regardless of your experience, the one thing we can likely agree on is that Minecraft is completely customizable...from start to finish
...Kind of like a homemade pizza.
As we all know pizza is the greatest invention human kind has created. It has endless customizations down to the dough, sauce, toppings and even how you eat it.
So, in my humble opinion, Minecraft and pizza are a match made in heaven.
Now that you know the background, let’s jump right into making this delicious experience.
My pizza of choice as of late is a simple Margarita Pizza. This probably reflects my Minecraft experience well since I always wanted a simple but satisfying experience.
Since I'm not a chef, I just add ingredients with feeling, so feel free to sub or swap out what you desire to make your pizza the perfect experience:
For this recipe, you will need:
Pizza Base (Dough, Lavash Bread, Pita, Tortilla) - I'm using Lavash Bread
Marinara Sauce
Mozzarella Cheese (Shredded, Sliced, etc.) - I'm using sliced
Basil Leaves
Prosciutto
Italian Seasoning
And any other toppings you like
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Prep your ingredients as needed. (Toast your bread, cook your dough according to package instructions, cook your toppings, etc. )
I lightly spritz my lavash bread with olive oil on both sides and season with salt and pepper.
Then, I toast it for about 5 minutes on 350 degrees. Don't be like me and forget and burn the bread.
After the base is to your liking, begin layering your pizza with toppings, starting with sauce, then cheese, and finally the various toppings.
In the case of my pizza, I like starting with a thick layer of Marinara enough to cover the whole base. Then, I take some sliced mozzarella and scatter it on the pizza. Finally, I top the pizza with Prosciutto, Basil Leaves, and a hefty sprinkle of Italian Seasoning.
After decorating your pizza to your liking, put it into the oven for about 10-15 minutes until the crust is crispy and the cheese is melted to your liking.
Cut it into pieces and enjoy!
